BABY SIGNS: SHOULD I USE THEM WITH MY INFANT OR TODDLER?
You can start to introduce sign language to your child as early as 3-6 months. Children often are able to use some early signs prior to uttering their first words verbally. This allows them to begin communicating their wants and needs with you at an early age, which may reduce frustration. Baby sign may also be used with late talkers as many children are receptive to using signs as they explore use of their voice. You can use books and videos to learn early signs that you want to teach your child. Here are some of our favorite signs and resources:
